Day 30

Uncategorized Apr 30, 2020

Today is the last day! If I have learned anything over these last 30 days, it's that it's hard to be intentionally positive and seek out things that make us happy in a rapidly moving world. I found out today someone else I know passed away last night, Sgt. Major Val. He was one of my favorites. He had this positive, loving vibe about him and lit up any room he was in. He was the type of person that you would always want to be around. I know he lived a good life, and he was 95. I remember when his wife Claire came into my office to plan his surprise 80th Birthday party. Normally I would never advise a surprise party for an 80-year-old, but not for Sgt. Major Val, he was more alive and vibrant than a lot of the young Staff NCO's running around that club. Anyway, with all the loss I have experienced over these two days, it really brings me back to what is important in life. We are not promised tomorrow, and we don't know when our final day will come. So even if it's only for 30 minutes a day, make sure you make your life worth it and spend it with the people who mean the most to you and doing the things that mean the most to you.
